Party list Rep. Cresente C. Paez, said he will back the probe by an independent panel of retired magistrates, of those involved in the alleged P10-B pork barrel scam.

The returning representative of COOP NATCCO Party List group, to the 16th Congress, announced this in his keynote address to the 4th Cooperative Day Forum conducted by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

This was held last July 19, 2013 at Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City as part of PICPA's celebration of Accountancy Week.

"I support the idea of Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago that this should be investigated by an independent probe panel  of retired magistrates to determine culpability of those involved," Rep. Paez said.

Sen. Santiago earlier was keynote speaker during the opening of the PICPA's week-long celebrations.

Rep. Paez said that Coop Natcco Party List is very transparent in the implementation of PDAF-funded projects.

"For instance, as congressman, I do not identify and implement projects.  We have a committee composed of representatives of cooperatives who identified projects.  And these projects are implemented by government agencies whose beneficiaries are cooperatives themselves," he cited.

In the 16th Congress, our PDAF projects will be posted in our website so that our constituency will have full access to where and how our projects will be implemented, and who are the recipients," Rep. Paez concluded.  (END).
