     Three (3) local cooperatives have been listed as participants to the 2014 International Summit of Cooperatives, slated on October 6-9, 2014 in Quebec, Canada.

      These are NATCCO Network, MASS-SPECC, and MSU IIT National Multipurpose Cooperative, according to the list posted in the Summit's website.

      NATCCO Network, and MASS-SPECC are two of the country's biggest cooperative federations, and which were reported to have agreed to merge into one.

      The Summit is a biennial gathering where leaders of cooperatives and mutualists enterprises get together to discuss their concerns about the current and future business challenges they all share, according to the website information,

      The Summit will unveil ground-breaking world-class studies - mainly on the 5 Summit themes- that will shed new light on innovative capacity of cooperatives and mutualistic business models.

      The themes are:  1) Developing Cooperative and Mutual Enterprises; 2). Economic, Financing and Capitalization; 3). Employment; 4). Food Security; and 5). Health and Social Care Services, the website added.  (END).
