"There is need to 'revolutionize' the regulatory and development systems (for local cooperatives) of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), if we are to prepare and strengthen the cooperative movement in the light of the Asean integration."

This is among the recommendations made by Coop-Natcco Party List Rep. Cresente C. Paez, in response to the CDA's Vision 2020.

This is essential, if we want our cooperatives to grow and develop at par with those of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, Rep. Paez said.

The CDA Vision 2020 is sending us a message that there is a compelling need to re-engineer its organizational structure, he pointed out.

"My view is for CDA to strengthen its regulatory power and enhance the supervisory skills of its people," Rep. Paez suggested.
